Common Wig Mistakes
More and more people have their own hair wigs, but not everyone knows how to maintain wigs. Below are some common wigs mistakes you should avoid, please read carefully and avoid using them.
1. Ordering Wrong Wig Size
No matter the wig size you ordered is too big or too small, both can make you feel inconvenient. If the wig size is too big, you may worry about if it will slide off. Then you should make more efforts on securing the wig with combs, adjustable straps, and glue. On the other hand, if the wig size is too small, the wig may bridle your head which will make you feel uncomfortable, or even cause headaches.
So before ordering, please check our wig size chart carefully on our official website: West Kiss Hair. Or if you are still not sure which capsize is suitable for you, you can please contact us.
2. Washing Wigs Improperly
Shampoo and condition regularly are important to your wig, but do you know the proper way to wash lace wigs (cheap lace front wigs, closure wigs, hd lace wigs) and non-lace wigs (headband wigs, u part wigs)? Sometimes people may use improper methods to wash, and washing a wig improperly can damage your wig. Below are some wrong way of washing wigs you should avoid:
1) Not Detangling Wig Before Washing
Washing a tangled hair wig is not a good idea, it will make the state of your hair wig worse. A silky hair wig is easier and convenient to wash.
2) Wash Your Wig In A Sink
Washing your wig in a sink is easy to make it tangled. We suggest you to use a shower head to rinse it.
3) Using Hot Water To Wash
Hair wig burns happen to most people when the water is too hot. Using lukewarm water to wash will be better.
4) Using Poor Quality Shampoo
In the market, there are some factories that use bad chemical materials to produce some poor-quality shampoo. And these shampoos will damage your hair wig, so pay more attention to choose shampoos before washing. Or you can ask some professional hairstylists for some suggestions.
5) Brushing The Wet Wigs
Sometimes, people will brush their wigs when wet, stop doing it. It will cause hair loss or tangle. You should brush your wigs in a proper way. Like brushing it gently when wigs are dry, using a wide-teeth comb or fingers to brush.
3. Blow Drying Human Hair Wigs
Sometimes it is a good idea to use a blow dry because it can dry your hair wig quicker than air dry. But you should set your dryer on low or medium heat, and keep the dryer about six to eight inches away from your hair wig. Never use a dryer too near the hair wig, or set it on a too high temperature. As high temperatures always can damage your hair wig.
Of course, we suggest you choose air dry, although it needs more time to dry hair, it is also a more healthy method.
4. Using Heat Tools On Wigs Too Much
The hairdryer, the flat iron, the curling iron: all of these heat tools can cause heat damage to your hair wig. And the best way to protect your wig from heat damage is to use less.
